Hello Kipton Church Family,
We are excited to announce that Sunday, May 31st, 2020 we will be resuming services on site. The good news is that we will still host our live webstream service each week for all our family that would prefer to stay connected to us online. We are so thankful that God has opened that new door for us to minister through our live streamed services. Our Sunday services will go back to our regular times of 8:30 am and 10:30 am and will last for 1 hour to give time to clean and sanitize the building between each service.
Though we are very glad to be returning to this sense of normalcy there are some things that will be changing due to COVID-19 precautions we are taking. We know how much of a difficult time this has been for everyone and understand that moving forward is going to look different for everyone. We hope that we can discontinue many of these changes in the near future and all changes are being made with the safety and well being of you all in mind.
Some of the changes that we are making are subject to change as new information comes out from the CDC and the health department so please bear with us as we implement these changes as part of our plan to keep everyone safe and healthy at Kipton Community Church.
To keep the risk of viral exposure, during our offering, to a minimum we will have our offering plates set out on both sides of the foyer when you first come inside and we will also continue to have online giving available on our website. You can also download the tithe.ly app on the android and apple app stores if you’d like to give directly from that platform on your mobile devices.
For the time being, there will be no youth and children’s ministry classes hosted in person. We will keep you all updated on that as things change. Our Fearless Youth group will continue meeting on Zoom each Wednesday at 6pm and we encourage all students 6-12th grade to take part in that fun and interactive meeting.
There will also be no greeting time during the service to help encourage appropriate social distancing requirements and we also recommend, but do not require, everyone to wear masks during the services.
We will have our ushers and greeters help people to their seats and we ask that families sit together and that groups set 6 feet apart. Greeters will give everyone hand sanitizer when they walk in the door and we ask that you all take your temperature before coming. If you are running a fever over 99.5 degrees we ask that you enjoy the service online and if you are experiencing any health concerns please contact your doctor.
In regards to communion, we ask that you please take communion at home at this time. This will help reduce the risk of any transmission of COVID-19. We will still have a communion service and we encourage you to watch that online while taking communion at home.
Please help us practice effective social distancing in the church to help keep everyone safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. We will have expanded seating in the fellowship hall downstairs and in the copy room so that we can accommodate as many people as possible during each service.
After each service our ushers will dismiss everyone by rows for your convenience.
Lastly, we are asking that if you need to use the restroom that you please use the restroom at home before coming and only use the restrooms at the church in case of emergency. We understand this is going to be difficult for some but want to make sure that we reduce the chance of spreading the virus as much as possible.
We thank you all so much for understanding these temporary changes and we look forward to seeing you all in person or through our online services.
