An integral part of prayer is meditation. We are commanded to meditate on the Word day and night. Through meditation, the Word becomes engrained in the fabric of our being. In the course of meditation, we converse with the Lord and He responds, revealing Himself in incredible ways. Unfortunately
I think most Christians think prayer is confined to “asking for something”. That is a very small piece of the puzzle. When prayer is limited to always asking, God becomes a genie in a bottle and we set ourselves up for disappointment (or worse).
I couldn’t agree more with your observations. When we examine Paul’s prayers, we are going to see that what he asks for us is significantly different than what we often (and consistently) ask for. Thanks for sharing!
